Balancing Travel and School Work

Tips for staying focused while you travel so you can see the world, and graduation.

Welcome back, students!

As you settle into your new classes, the homework, tests, and reading piles on. When it’s time to take a trip, whether abroad or cross-country, you still need to stay focused on schoolwork so as not to fall behind.

Here are a few tips for staying productive while traveling.

Plan
Ask for assignments in advance so you’re not playing catch-up when you return from your trip. If you know your travel itinerary, you can plan for study breaks in advance.

Make the Most of Layovers
No one loves being stuck at the airport, but this time could be spent studying! Take advantage of the time and Wi-Fi and catch up on some extra assignments.

Connect
Use apps or email to connect with classmates on anything you may miss in person. If you are traveling with others, ask them to help you study and make it fun!

Traveling is great and offers new perspectives and connections. If you are planning a trip during the school year, don’t forget to make schoolwork part of the itinerary so you don’t fall behind. Have fun and good luck this year!
